q. How long will it take me to recover?
a. Recovery is different for each patient. In normal cases we recommend resting for around 3 days. Most people are able to resume their normal activities within a week.

q. Can I be sedated?
a. During your consultation with the doctor, we will review your medical history to be sure you are a candidate for sedation. We offer several different types of sedation and we will discuss which option is best for you.

q. When should I rinse with salt water?
a. Salt water rinses need to be started the morning after surgery. Simply combine 8 oz. of water with a teaspoon of salt and rinse. Do this at least 5-6 times a day to help with the healing process and also to help dissolve the stitches. Click here for more post operative instructions.

q. Do I have to come back to have my stitches removed?
a. The doctor will want to see you one week after your procedure to make sure you are healing properly. However, the stitches that we use dissolve on their own with salt water rinses.

a. Cold compresses should be used immediately after surgery for the first few days. The compress should be placed on the surgical site for 20 minutes and taken off for 20 minutes during this time.
